Portraiture is the most difficult artistic expression because the idea we have of ourselves or of our loved ones does not always correspond to how other people see us. A portrait should not only be the faithful reproduction of the physical appearance, but also capture something of the sitter's personality. A portrait is made to be kept in the family and become a sort of alter-ego of the person.
